Duell stages its drama as a duet between two visual registers. Anamorphic and spherical lenses separate what is real from what is imagined, letting the camera carry the central tension rather than simply record it. Shot in open gate on a Blackmagic PYXIS, the choreography moves in step with the dancers instead of observing them from a fixed distance.
